They appear to be nylon and sit at the edge of the lower window in a groove. I circled the item of concern in red. Better BILT is the manufacturer but have since gone out of business.

Many thanks for your post. It is possible the 67-028 Snap-in Face Guide could work for your windows. Please compare. If not, also consider the screw-in 67-002. See what you think.

I believe the screw type face guide will work. Can you recommend a sheet metal screw that will work?
