Window spring and foot replacement

Contractor from Northern Virginia
I am looking for a set (L & R) window counter balance springs and feet for a window.
Foot measures: 2 1/4" x 1 3/16" x 1/2" and is stamped with a "10"
Devices has an external spring that sould have connected to the interior one but the end is broken off.
The clear mounting plate measures: 1 1/4" x 1 5/16" x 7/16"

Hello,

Your coil balance resembles the S161-10. Take a look at the specifications below to confirm. We also offer the 16-030 mounting bracket used with this assembly. Thanks for posting!

It looks like the S161-10 will work for this window, but how does the tandem spring connect?

The 15-086 tandem housing and attaches to the S161 as demonstrated in the diagram below. You'll need to check for the number stamped on the original tandem housing or second coil to choose the strength option needed for the second S180 coil spring. If there are no other stamps or the tandem housing is missing, we'll need to know the weight of the sash the balances support to confirm the appropriate strength options.

The tandem coil had no housing and is stamped with 101M

In that case, we'll need to know the weight of your sash since 101M does not correspond to any of our strength options.

A second coil would install inside the 15-086 tandem housing and the end of the coil would attach to the same 16-030 mounting bracket as the bottom coil. We'll still need to know the weight of your window sash to confirm if a second coil is required for your application.

Could the stamp be a W101?

Unforutnately, that doesn't match out strength options either. As Casey mentioned, we will need the weight of the sash to confirm the coil springs needed for your repair.

Wouls 15-086 possibly be missing from the second coils spring and that is why I don't see the connection to the shoe?

That is a possibility, yes. To confirm, you could check an identical window in the house, if possible, to see if that window has a tandem coil housing.
