Window spring/shoe replacement

Hello, I have a front window that no longer stays up. It appears a window spring wore out and broke in a few places. I attached a picture of the spring that is still intact. It has BSI 29D on the side. I tried to find a replacement spring. The one that I ordered has 2830 on the side (that's what came up when I searched 29D). So my questions: can I find a replacement 29D spring ... does the window shoe still work for it (I attached a photo of that, too) ... and does the 2830 replacement that I got work if I buy a new shoe? Thanks for your post! It appears someone may have modified the 2830 balance for this window. This channel is not the one typically used for these balances. The terminal clip, that connects to the pivot shoe, is the one typically installed on the Series 770 Channel Balance. This would be the most optimal replacement.

That being said, your window balance can be replaced with the S770-29 Channel Balance. Although, I'll need to know if the balance uses a clip or a screw to attach at the top of the window. This will determine if the replacement might need to be a custom assembly, which simply means we'd need to add a rivet if it uses a clip.

It may be likely the 29D stamp option is the one you need but it would be a good idea to double check the sash weight. The 29D stamp on our balances will support a sash weighing between 23 to 28lbs.

The pivot shoe is likely to be the 15-129 but you'll need to remove your from the window to confirm. Carefully review and compare the dimensions to determine if this is the right fit.
