Adjusting Bottom Pivot on Storefront Door

A contractor from Broward County says:
Hello,

The 40 year old door is dragging on the threshold. I loosened the allan set screw holding the bottom pivot in place and then attempted to turn the pivot counter clockwise to raise it, in hopes of lifting the door off the threshold. There doesn't seem to be a nut at the bottom of the pivot that I can turn. Please see pictures of the pivots. I can't get the door off to take pictures of the pivots with the door off. Do you know if the style i have, has the nut? Thank you, Tom

Dave Sr. from SWISCO responded:

Hello there. I believe you have an Arch aluminum commercial door. Take a look at our 79-128 pivot set, along with the related video, and see what you think.

Thank you for the response.
1. Mine doesn't seem to have the 5/8" nut on the bottom pivot.( it's hard to see because I can't get the door off. The top pivot screws are rusted.
2. If it does have the 5/8" nut, will turning it counter clockwise help lift the door off the threshold?

Dave Sr. from SWISCO responded:

You should have that adjustment nut. It may just be hard to see since you are not able to remove the door. When you turn the lower pin, counter-clockwise will raise it and clockwise will lower it.

For your rusted screws, soak them in WD-40. It may take hours, or even days, to soak them enough to get them out, but they'll hopefully loosen eventually.

A contractor from Broward County says:
Thank you- I'll have to drill a hole in top frame to spray WD40 in on screws that hold the top pivot in place.
