The bracket on the bottom of the window is hard to remove as the screw is frozen and starting to be stripped. Is it possible to install the balance without removing the old bracket. I'm looking to install a spiral balance on a non tilt window.

I'm not sure what it is you mean, exactly. Could I see a few pictures of the existing hardware? I would specifically like to see the balance and bracket. Thank you.
