broken balances for 1999 vintage non-tilt sash window

Home Owner from Liberty Lake WA
I'm looking to replace the balances on an original window in our 1999-built home. I believe it is a non-tilt sash window (vertical slide) and appears to have spiral balances.

Any help/advice you could offer would be most welcome.

Thanks! - Jeff

Hello,

We can't be sure of what you need with the hardware still installed but you can start by comparing the dimensions of the 15-046 to your part removed from the window. If it's a match, see the S600 spiral balance, which is commonly used with the 15-046 pivot shoe.

Also, please note that the fact that your window has pivot shoes indicates that this is a tilt window since the shoe is what allows the sash to pivot inward for cleaning. Thank you!

This makes sense (that it's a pivot window), but in removing the window I found that one of the pivots was broken and missing from the window. I think we'll need to seek a replacement. Thanks for the guidance!

If you could remove an undamaged pivot bar from one of your windows to show us, along with written-out dimensions, we'd be happy to research your replacement options for that part as well.
