American Craftsman coil balances

I'm afraid I've never seen this coil balance system before. I'm not sure if either the Series 140 or Series 210 will work.

In order to figure out what you have, we'll need more information and photos. I'd like you to remove an undamaged version of this balance system from the window and show us a couple pictures free of obstruction. I'd like to see what the whole setup looks while assembled, as well as a photo of the springs themselves and any stamps they may have printed on them.

I'd also like dimensions, especially the thickness of the springs and shoe. If you weren't able to find a stamp on the springs then we'll also need to know the exact weight of the sash.

Hopefully, we'll be able to find a good replacement balance for you with that information.

Hey there, hopefully I can help. Like Tom said, we don't have anything exactly like this. However, I think our Series 140 is your best bet. This balance is 1-1/4" wide and 9/16" thick. Since your old springs had 5 on all four, I'd go with our S140-10.
