i just sent an email with a crank problem and forgot to send pictures. here is the window with crank. can the crank be replaced? and does the entire box need to be replaced? i can send a picture of the crank, but i've not been able to find any part numbers. the window is about 30 years old. do we need to buy and install a new window?

Yes, you'll need an all-new operator. The worm gear on yours has stripped out and that isn't something that can be repaired.
