crank spiral(gear) slip ring?

Quick Learner from Des Moines, Iowa
When cranking window the gear shaft just comes right out because the ring around it that has a lot of fine lines does not stay in. I have tapped it in all the way. A Marvin window, casement, there is a number on crank mechanism 40471. Truth hardware.

Thanks for reaching out to us. It sounds like the gears are stripped out of your operator. This can't be repaired or replaced, unfortunately, so you will need an all new operator.

Before I can recommend anything, though, I will need a clear picture that shows the complete mechanism. Your current photos only show the base; this is helpful, but it only tells half the story. I need to see the whole setup before I can pick out a good match. Would that be possible?

Gears are not stripped, the ring holding the crank does not stay in, see circled. Not doubting a new mechanism is needed though. Hope these are helpful. Will be happy to get you more pics if needed

Gotcha, thanks for clarifying. Based on these new photos my top recommendation would be the 39-155 and 39-156 operators. The size of the arms appear to match to me, but look over our specs and see what you think. Take special note of the link arms: yours appear to be less than 4", but you should definitely verify that they're the same as ours at 3-13/16".

That is a huge help, thank you. With this new measurement in mind I think our 39-031 and 39-032 would be the better options for you.
