determining the correct channel balance

A home owner from California says:
Hi. My channel balance does not have any imprint to indicate size and weight tolerance. As you can see from the picture, it has the markings "25 5 JV CMC 2"
I believe the 26 inch series 380 is the one I want, but not sure about the weight of the window. Any ideas? Also, if you can confirm whether or not you think series 380 is correct, I'd appreciate that as well.

Bob from SWISCO responded:

Thanks for writing in. I agree that the S380-26 looks probable. The only other possibility is our S385-26 Channel Balance. The only difference between these two balances is the 'depth' of the bottom nylon shoe, so compare both with your old hardware to see what matches best. Judging from your picture, I suspect it will be the Series 380, but best to be sure. As far as the right stamp option goes, your stamp code of 25-5 conforms to our stamp option of 2550, which is for a window sash in the weight range of 25 through 28 lbs. Let me know if you have any other questions.
