need to order a replacement lock for a sliding door. The sticker says Series: A172-170SGD P.L.#004-061

Thanks for posting! The internal mortise lock you have here looks like it can be replaced with the 82-259 SS Multi-Point Mortise Lock. To determine if this is the correct replacement, you'll need to compare the dimensions.

This comes with a compatible keeper but the 82-249 is also recommended for use with this lock.

The bottom hook needs to point down and the top one needs to point up.

I'm sorry to say we do not have a lock with that configuration. You'll likely need to replace the keeper with either the one it comes with or the 82-249 mentioned.

I also need exactly the same lock replacement, but I don't think the suggested one works. On the one on the OP's picture the latched hook and move toward the outside, eg the upper one hooks up and lower one down. But on the suggested replacement they are opposite,n the upper one hooks down.
