hardware that I ordered does not fit. The mechanism does not line up. Want to be able to lock keylock from outside.

Sorry to hear the 82-081 didn't work out for you. That handle set has 4-15/16" hole spacing; you need one with 3-15/16" hole spacing. See our 82-030. This doesn't come with a key lock built-in, but the 82-310 can be adapted to its outside pull. This article here explains how.
