We have a metal tube non-tilt balance, the S500-30, that goes with the 17-012 balance bracket. You would first slide the S500-30 balance down the side of the sash. Screw the tube at the top of the window track. You will notice the spiral will fall down the track to the sill--that's okay. Raise the sash and screw on the bracket to the bottom of the sash. While you are doing that, collar the spiral with the bracket end. Now, have someone hold the sash as far up as it goes. Have them hold it there while you bring up the spiral bowtie end to the bracket. Now, hook the 75-005 charging tool in the hole at the bottom of the spiral and give the spiral about three to four clockwise turns and hook the bow tie to the bracket. Do the same on the other side, then try the sash. |
