id replacement(s) for balance spring

A quick learner from Southborough, MA says:
15-yr old windows. uses coiled springs to support wooden tilt sashes. some sashes will not stay open. house is one of 62 in comdominium with approx 32 of these double hung of these windows in each. (so there are a lot that will need to be replaced!)

I assume many of the springs (28.5" length, 0.37" od, .04"wd, sash weight 29.5 lbs) need replacement based on perosna experience. a few of the metal bottom pins(rods) are bent. there are no metal channels. the channels in wood sash sides are 1/2 inch wide and 3/8 inch deep.

I am looking to replace several of my coil springs right now. i havent found the coiled springs yet. A replacement metal twist spring/channel substitute would be ok if necessary.

Thanks for any recommendations.

We can help you with the shoe, which matches our 15-104, but not the spring. These aren't something our company can supply since they're built into the jamb liner; indeed, the jamb liner itself is what you have to replace.

I recommend contacting a local mill work for assistance. If you bring in the old sash and one of the old jamb liners then they should be able to set you up with new ones.
