I've been buying the Series 795 for three years, repairing and upgrading the shoes on my windows. I've bought several different sizes and strengths.
But the shoes are cracking in the two places shown in the attached photo. What's causing that?

Hmm... the only time I've came across one of these T-Lock shoes breaking like this when we installed a balance to replace something that was similar, but not exactly the same, as our Series 795. It turned out to be a different kind of balance. Could that be the case here? If you happen to have one of the originals on hand to show us, we can say for sure. Can you also tell me if they're cracking as you operate the window up and down? |

Ah! I see now. The shoe was incorrect. You would need the Series 795 balance, and then you'd need to replace the bottom shoe with the 15-195B, shown below. There's a video to show you this incredibly simple swap. Let me know if you have any more questions. Dimensions for 15-195B

I recommend reading over Paul's response back on the 13th. The shoe that comes with the Series 795 by default does not match yours. That has a closed cam, but you have an open cam. We recommend our 15-195B, which is sold separately. |

Hi, I am guessing because the pivot bar may have been too tight in the opening, thus having an "open cam" the pivot can pass through the pivot shoe a touch more than the "closed cam". And, by the looks of it, your original pivot shoes had an "open cam", so hopefully this will solve the pivot shoe damage problem. |
