new handle does not fit

Old holes were drilled too large handle moves, new handle doesn't work even though mounting holes line up.

Hello there. Unfortunately, your only solution here might be to drill new holes to accommodate the screws on the new handle set. A surface mount handle set like the one you seem to have purchased, or our 82-005 or 82-009A, would be the best option in my opinion. Let me know if you have further questions.
