The old balance springs are 27" long and have yellow tips. I attached a picture - apparently they had plastic covers which are mostly gone. I found a replacement but I'm not sure I have the right one. Also I need the attachment for the bottom of the window.
It looks most similar to the red-tipped 27" Series 500 Spiral Balance and the bottom clips looks most similar to Window Balance Bracket Product Code: 17-083. What do you think?
Also - some instructions mention a tension adjuster - do I need this? And some sort of spring lubricant? Thanks

Hello,
Your original balances with the bracket fixed to the bottom of the spiral are no longer available. If the original housing tube measured 5/8" in diameter, you should be able to use the S500-27 spiral balances with the 17-012 mounting brackets. You'll need to weigh your sash to determine which color option you'll need. There is a chart on the product page that explains how to choose your option based on the sash weight. We also suggest using a charging tool like the 75-005, which makes the install much easier. Thanks for posting!
