non-tilt window channel balance

Quick Learner from Valencia, CA
I'd like to correctly identify the replacement window channel balance. Attached are pictures of the broken part I need to replace.

9/16 channel width, 30 inch length

It seems to me Series 380 or 385 should work, but would like to make sure.

Thanks.

Thanks for posting, Pete. Before I can offer an applicable replacement for this channel balance, I just need to know a bit more information about the bottom attachment. Please take a look at our 15-004 and 15-005 channel balance shoes, and note their depths. As you can see, they are 1-3/32" deep and 1" deep, respectively. Which one more closely matches your own bottom attachment?

The depth of the bottom attachment is 1". 15-005 is the matching shoe. Correct? Thus, I would need series 380, I guess.

Thanks for getting back to us, Peter. Yes, with a 15-005 shoe, and a 19-005 top attachment, I would also go with the S380-30. You should also choose the 2950 stamp option, which matches your current balance's stamp.

I bought and installed a pair of S380-30 with 2950 option. Now, it's definitely much easier to open and close the window. However, I observed that, oddly enough, slight lift of the sash opens the windos completely. As a result, I am unable to keep the window open to a desired amount or height. Basically, the spring in the balances seem too strong.

Thanks for getting back to us! I'm sorry to hear that the spring is too strong. Could you please tell me the weight of your window sash?
