order new sash balance

I would like to order a Series 770 balance to replace a broken one on a vinyl window. The length of the existing is 24", however the stamp on it says "23D". Not sure which way to go.

Sometimes the stamp codes on older versions of these balances can differ in terms of the rating system. Assuming you do indeed have a S770-24, the best thing to do is to obtain the exact weight of your window sash. You can then match that exact weight with one of the weight ranges listed alongside each stamp option on the S770-24 product page.
