T-Lock Shoe Replacement

A home owner from Townsend, Delaware says:
Plastic part connects spring to side of tilt out single sash window. Both sides are broken and windows will not stay up. We have 3 windows with this problem.

Picture #1 is the label from one of the windows. Pictures 2 & 3 are the part.

I looks like the part has Pat #s 6.679.000
4.610.108
D 467.490

Please advise price for 3 sets. Total 6 pcs.

Thank you, Dominic

Thanks for posting. This T-Lock Shoe looks reminiscent of our 15-195B 1-1/4" Open Cam Shoe. There is a big difference, however; you'll note that your old T-Lock shoe has a characteristic groove in the stem, that enables it to interface with a similar groove in your channel balances. Are T-Lock Shoes and channel balances do not have this configuration. Therefore, I am afraid you will need to replace not only your T-Lock Shoes, but your old channel balances as well.

We can help you with this. You will need a Series 795. Measure the length of the metal channel to confirm the balance length you need. You will need to choose a stamp option. Look for a stamp code on the metal channel. If there is none, or you are uncertain, weigh your window sash. You can then match that exact weight with one of the weight ranges listed alongside each stamp option on the product page.

You will need to determine if your balance attaches to the window via a screw-on tab, or a hook. Our standard Series 795 uses a screw-on tab, so if your old balance uses a hook instead, we'll need to see the hole in the window track that hook attaches to; that will clue us into the best course of action.

Finally, you will need to swap out the shoe that comes by default with our Series 795 (the 15-195) with the 15-195B. The video below illustrates how to do this.
