I have a door with what appears to be the equivalent of your 82-080 handle set (see photo). I would like to convert it to a locked handle with your 82-081. The existing mortise lock looks like your 82-268B.
1. That mortise lock has a 7/32" square drive. For the keyed handle, it seems that I need a "slot" drive. How to resolve that?
2. If I were to need to replace the mortise lock, how would I detach it? Almost all of the mortise locks seem to mount using a squared or rounded faceplate. This one (and 82-268B) do not. How is it typically attached (don't seem to be able to access the sides of the lock and aluminum frame, because of the vinyl exterior)?
Thank you!

Thanks for posting! The key tail in the 82-081 is a flat spindle rather than a square one, but it still still activate the mortise lock as normal.
As for the 82-268B, I've never personally replaced one of these but from what I understand there is a vinyl cover running the length of the side of the door that must first be removed. I am told that it can be frustrating to get to, unfortunately. Check it out and see if that helps you get to it.
