replace window balancer

Quick Learner from Davis WV

attached photos provide all that I know, windows might be Pella and are from 1984-ish. They are double pane, aluminum single hung and non-tilt. This is from 30 x 57 size window and I need the entire thing (with block and tackle) if I got that correct. There were too many options for me to figure it out. We also have smaller windows that are broken too. I don't have access to the balancer without removing the window, and I'd prefer not to do so. One is 22 x 57 and the other is 23 x 49, can you help with selecting?

thank you, Karen

Thanks for reaching out! We can supply this style of balance, but it will require a custom order to assemble for you. Your balances have the 19-037 Rollyson Channel Balance Top attachment.

To get you set up with an order link there are a few more details I'll need to confirm the depth of the bottom attachment. Take a look at the diagram below for reference.

Comparison of 15-004 and 15-005

I'll need to know the exact number of balances you are looking to purchase, as well. There is an order minimum of (2) balances per custom balance.

Please feel free to reach out with any question in the meantime.

Thank you for your response Jasmine,

Depth of bottom attachment is 3/4". Channel is about 9/16" deep and wide. I include more photos on one that is not broken, although not really working either.

As for order quantity, I'll need at lease 2 on every broken window, and have a variety of sizes of windows, so will need to figure out size of others. I would think we start with one or 2 windows to make sure this really works.

Also, what do you expect the rough cost to be per pair? Jut trying to get a relative idea.

I'm only at this house one more day (tomorrow) and was hoping to speak with you before I go so that I might check anything I need to while we're on the phone. Really want to get this ordered!

Thank you

Thanks for confirming this information. Unfortunately, I do not have a phone line that I would be able to speak to you on. I am happy to help but this is the only form of communication I have.

In regard to the shoe measurement. We do not have a balance shoe with a 3/4" depth made for a 1/2" channel balance. It is likely you'll need the 15-029 bottom shoe, which has a 7/8" measurement. I recommend double checking this measurement to confirm.

Dimensions for 15-029

In the meantime, I've forwarded a link with quote for (2) of the requested balances. Once you have confirmed the shoe measurement, you'll be able to use this link to view the quote and place your order.

Please let me know if you'll need a higher quantity of balances and I'll be happy to update the quote for you.

Feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns.

Yes it is 7/8".
Saw the quote and those prices are no issue. I just want to confirm that it includes the channel the plastic ends, the spring and the block and tackle all in one.
How long do these orders take to fill and be delivered? Thanks.

when checking out, this item is getting added automatically , I can remove it, but I also wanted to possibly order more of the custom item and I can't change the quantity

Yes, as explained, I'll need to update the quantity. That isn't something you are able to do from the cart since these are a custom order. We have to check pricing and availability before the order is submitted.

Please confirm the quantity you intend to purchase.

Ready to order - we'd like to order 4 (for 2 windows) of the 27D and also want to order 4 (for 2 windows) that are 27B. The shoes are the same on all windows.
We also need a take out clip as one is missing, not sure this will fit, but looks most like what we have Product Code: 16-002.
Thank you and want to order ASAP.
Also not one of our windows has a sash stop, so can't look at a part to determine what we need. I don't know the width, as I failed to measure before I left. The windows are bronze aluminum and I don't see anything on your web page that looks appropriate, is there a possible solution to keep the windows from being opened too far. Or is this not actually required in all windows?

I've forwarded a link with a quote for (8) requested balances. You'll need to be sure to add the 16-002 Take Out Clip to the cart along with the balances to purchase them.

In regard to the top sash guide, most of ours come in an white, off white, or black (when applicable). The colors we'll have available for your particular top sash guide will be dependent on the type of top sash guide you need.

With that said, to confirm the exact replacement, I will need to see a photo of your top sash guide. Since you did not see one that matched, I'll need to see it to be able to narrow down any possible replacements.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

hi, I've ordered from you before, can you access that order, #2136544. I need the same top and bottom shoes in shape but need channels for a window that is 48" wide and 49" in height. So also the same 27 size, just don't know the rest. There are no channels in the window to use as a go by. But my guess is we need a very strong set. We got 2740 for replacements of 27D for a 30" wide x 49" high window

Thanks for reaching out, again! Since the other window has a 49" height, it may be safe to assume that the channel needs to be 27" but I'll need to double check this with our senior experts. In the meantime, it would be a good idea to confirm the height of the visible glass in the sash the balances support; only the part of the glass that can be seen.

Since the width of the window is much larger than the other window, it is very likely the sash weighs a bit more than the other. That said, I would need to know the exact weight of the sash to determine the stamp option needed for these custom assemblies.

The last thing I'll need to confirm is the exact number of balances you would like to purchase. Again, there is an order minimum of (2) balances for a custom order.
