replacement window parts
i need to replace the locking shoe and the 'spring loaded window clip' seen in these pictures. Can you tell what these parts are ? Do you carry them?
the "spring loaded window clip that stops the window from tilting out" is on the right hand side when I look at the window from inside the house .
on the locking show It says "Pat. 6,983,513" and under that "5,371,971".
The spring-loaded window clip has been numbers 195 stamped on it , (I think that the first digit is a one)
I'm also having difficulty figuring out how to remove/replace the assembly of the coil spring as the window stop is not as long as the coils . I'm worried that if I cut a hole that size in the jamb , it will not be covered by the window stop.
I am hesitant to use the spreading technique as the jamb does not seem flexible. Could it be True that I will break the jamb If I apply pressure ?
Thank you so much for your assistance
Hello,
Your coil balance reminds me of an older-style version of the S140 assembly. It's a good place to start but you'll need to carefully compare the dimensions, paying close attention to the width and thickness of the shoe, to ensure that it will fit in your window. I'd also recommend weight your sash and dividing the weight by two to choose the correct strength option.
As for your tilt latch, I'd recommend comparing an undamaged tilt latch from one of your windows to the specifications shown on the 26-243 and 26-244 product pages.
We'll also relate some videos to help walk you through your window repairs. We do recommend the cut-out method over using jamb spreaders because the jamb could break under too much pressure. Thank you!
