replacing lifters in older systems that don't have tilt out clips

A landlord from Duvall, WA says:

I have a number of windows in a professional office building that need to have the channel balances replaced. The building was remodeled in 1990 but the windows installed do not have the take out clips for securing the lifters. I think there must have been a special process that people use for replacing old channel balances with new ones, but haven't been successful figuring it out yet myself. Can you help me out?

Thanks,

Jim

The channel balances are Swisco 13" series 285

Hi, Jim.

If it's just the take out clips you need, please see our 16-002. There is also a video below that you may find helpful. It demonstrates how to replace a non-tilt channel balance. Let me know if this helps.
