retired pivot shoes

Landlord from North Carolina
Our mountaintop inn has aluminum spiral balance windows. The shoes are breaking and we can't find their replacements.
We have a few shoes that look very much like Swisco's 15-045 and 15-212. However, the 3/8" thickness of those shoes is just a little bit too thick. The windows are too stiff for our guests to operate. Our inn does not have central air.
We need 11/32". The other dimensions are 2 inches high and 31/32" wide.

Thank you again for your patience. We don't have this exact pivot shoe, but we may be able to find a possible replacement option. In the meantime, can you show me a photo of the pivot bar that fits into this shoe? That will help us in our search.

The pivot bar is 3 inches long and looks identical to your 3 inch pivot bar # 26-040.

Thank you again for your patience. We thought we found your exact pivot shoe, but alas it is no longer made. The manufacturer indeed suggests the 15-212 like you previously selected. The 15-212 will accept your pivot bar, and I also included a few media guides related to this page to further help you.

Also to help with the performance of your pivot shoe, you might want to spray the track with silicone, if you haven't done so already. You might also want to check the spiral balance for tension. Our 75-006 charging tool makes this easy to check. Sometimes a little grease helps loosen the spiral in the tube, as well.
