shoe and track not working

Home Owner from Brookfield, IL
This window no longer stays open. I am a complete novice. These windows were installed by a contractor in approximately 2008 and I do not know the manufacturer. It appears that the shoe is broken and no longer engages the balance mechanism. Can I just purchase a replacement shoes? Is this something a novice can fix? I have attached pictures of the shoe, the track and balance.

Thanks for reaching out! The balance you have in your window is the Series 795 Channel Balance used along with the 15-195B open cam shoe. To determine the correct replacement for your balance, I'll need to know the length of your metal channel as well as the stamp from the balance. If your balance does not have a stamp, I'll need to know the exact weight of the sash.

In the meantime, I believe your tilt window latches can be replaced with our 26-243 and 26-244. To determine if these are the correct replacement, carefully look over the dimensions below and compare them.

It appears that we just need the cam shoe. The balance seems intact and functional. As for the tilt latch. I measured the length that has 2 5/8 in the diagram and ours is 2 3/8. The width measurement that is 1 1/16 is 5/8 on ours.

The 15-195B can be purchased individually. Regarding the latches, our 26-393A and 26-393B may be a better fit. In addition to the measurements be sure to compare their design. You'll notice the 26-393B has a peanut shape "nub" on the side.
