spiral balance color coding

A quick learner from Texas says:

I would like to replace the spiral balances on several of my windows. They all have the same tubing size (30" long and 3/8" diameter) but different window sash width (17", 29", 35" and 47"). The spiral balance for the 35"-width sash has an orange tip. I don't know the tip color for the other sashes.

Your 30" series 400 spiral balance only has two tip options, green and red. Which one should I use for my window? If I order like below, will it work?

Sash width tip color

17"/29" red

35"/47" green

Thanks,

Cindy

Tom from SWISCO responded:

Hello, Cindy. If your old tip color was orange then you want our Red Tip. "Orange" is technically considered "Red" in the industry, which I know is a little confusing but that's just how they do things.

Since your other sashes are different sizes, they may have the Green Tip instead. Just something to keep in mind. You'll want to check each one.
