tilt window shoe 15-015

A quick learner from new york says:
shoes look like 15-015 sometimes break after year or two at thin side.

1. how prevent/postpone break?
2. 15-046 fit? last longer?

The 15-015 locks on the side, which is why one leg is thinner. That way it can be kicked out to lock the cam into place. The 15-046 locking mechanism is to the back of the cam. It also may last longer before it starts wearing down. Personally, I prefer the 15-046 as it is a newer design.
