Hi Julie,

Thanks for reaching out! The worm gear from your operator has been completely stripped from the middle of it. When this happens the gears on the base of the operator can no longer function. Since the worm gear is machine pressed into the operator, it wouldn't be repairable. That said, we can certainly help with replacing the hardware.

To determine the correct replacement, I'll need to see a photo of the entire operator. In addition to the photo of the base, I am also looking to see a photo of the arm(s) and how the operator attaches to the bottom of the swinging window sash.

Please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions you might have.

Hi, Jasmine,

Thanks. Here is a photo of the mechanism. Some are left and some are right.

Can you tell me what would work?

Thanks,

Julie

Hi Julie,

Thanks for the additional photos! Your Truth casement operator can be replaced with either the 39-032 EntryGard Dual Arm Operator or the 39-155 Caradco Window Crank. They are both Truth brand products but have different measurements. Carefully compare the dimensions to determine which of these is the one you need.

I've tagged the opposite handed versions of these operators and their compatible hardware accessories below.

Dimensions for 39-032
Dimensions for 39-032

Dimensions for 39-156

Great, thanks!

maybe a dumb question but can that little white plastic wheel on the far end of that larger bar be replaced?

I've got a window where the crank and arms works fine but the wheel is pretty beat up and sometimes slips out of the track when cranking open/close.

Planning on replacing the wheel track (which seems cheap / easy) to see if that helps but replacing this other unit with the wheels/cogs seems like it might require removing some of the casing? whole other level of pain and not something i can do myself...

thanks in advance!

I'm sorry to say these wheels are not provided separately by any manufacturer, so you'll need to replace the entire operator. We do have a video tutorial that may help to provide some guidance when completing the project.

Our sincerest apologies!

Can you provide a link to the video tutorial 39-032 and 39-031

There are two video tutorials tagged below this thread that provide details regarding the installation of these operators. Take a look at each of them to see if they might be of help.
