vertical window slides

A handy person from Fair Oaks, CA says:
We have (3) vertical sliding windows. Each one has a 1610 on the left and a 1640 on the right. The metal slide is 17" long on both. The 1610 spring is 5-3/8" and the 1640 spring is 6". Seem weird there would be two different types of mechanisms in the same window?

Only one of the three windows has both mechanisms functioning.

I would like to replace all 6 mechanisms.

Thanks

Jim

Hello,

It looks like you have either our S351-17, with a 15-002 bottom attachment, or S390-17, with a 15-001 bottom attachment. Take a look at the image below to determine which balance you'll need.

In the case of the balances from one window having different stamp codes, I recommend weighing the window sash and following the chart under the balance product description to choose the correct strength option. Thank you!
