vinyl window fixups

hello, I'm refurbishing all the 20+ vinyl windows in my house, cleaning them, making a list of broken or missing parts, saggy springs etc.  All the windows are single hung, vinyl. I have lots of questions , such as 1.) Can you please  advise how to interpret the codes on the springs? For example, one spring says "26 3 EU CMC 4". I'm sure that I should replace the springs in pairs.  Some of the window springs have unmatched codes. For example, left spring reads "26 3 DU CMC 2" versus the right spring reads "26 3 EU CMC 4". 2.) I need a few of the clips that hold the spring in place while you remove the window. what are those called and how do I measure them? (or is it one size?) 3.) Some of the frames are loose from the glass. Do I remove the face pieces and apply a bead of silicone caulking? If so, is it a few dots of caulking or a whole bead "line"? 4.) Some frames have separated at the miter joint corner.  Do you sell an epoxy or some other product/tool to fix? I can't find a local shop to make that repair. 5.) I need to replace the fuzzy weather stripping, do you sell that? How do i select the right size? 6.) Any recommendations on applying a window film to help cut UV on the south facing windows? Do you sell it? Thanks for your advice!

Hello,

Starting at the beginning, the channel balance stamps you've referenced indicate the spring strength required to support the weight of the sash but, unfortunately, are not part numbers. We would need to see a photo of one of your balances removed from the window to identify the series. Also, the (26 3) stamps you mentioned are the same spring strengths. The difference in the rest of the stamp is nothing to worry about and is just manufacturer information.

It also sounds like you're looking for take out clips like our 16-002. Take a look and see how they compare to your originals.

If the glass is not held tightly in place, you may need replacement glazing beads. You can view our selection here. We would need to see a side profile piece of your glazing removed from the sash to narrow down your options.

Also, you can view our selection of wool pile here. To determine which, if any, of these that you could use you'll need to compare the width of the backing and height of the pile to our selection.

Lastly, we do not carry any kind of window film to cut down on UV light.
