window balancer

Home Owner from Des Plaines, IL
Hi Again,
The windows we have were installed in 1990 and I believe the company no longer exists. Windsor? Windstrom?Something like that. Photo shows additional parts ( the shoe?) I may need but Im not seeing a match. It holds the balancer spiral as well as the shoe to the window. One of them is barely holding on in terms of tension. Figured I'd see about getting a replacement if you have any suggestions.

Hello again! Looks like you need a new pivot shoe. I'm certain we can find you a good replacement for this, but before I recommend anything you will need to remove the original and measure the width and thickness. Then, write out those dimensions in your response to me. I will try to find you a good fit from the available sizes in our inventory.

We unfortunately don't sell anything that's 1" wide and 1/2" thick. The closest option would be the 15-173, which is 31/32" wide and 9/16" thick. I'm not sure this is correct, since the design is still very different compared to yours.

Can you verify these dimensions? To reiterate what I mentioned above, make sure that you remove the shoe before you measure it. It's not possible to get an accurate measurement so long as it's still installed.

https://www.swisco.com/Pivot-Shoe-1_2-inch-Thick/pd/Tilt-Window-Replacement-Pivot-Lock-Shoes/15-046 I found this, and it says it's compatible with the 600 series window balancer. Could this be it?

It very well may be, but the dimensions listed for this product vary greatly from yours. At the end of the day, size is the major determining factor.

Now I have the issue of removing the pivot shoe (no cut out). I'm going to try the cut out method and see.
How long do these threads stay up? I might not get to it until 6/30.
Appreciate your help!
