window chanel balance

hello,
Need to but window balance spring, it printed on old channel as follow 28 9 CX CMC 7 , Non tilted glass window.
I want ot know if not fit properly , can i return it ?
Suggest me , need 6 of this ? it is available local in fort myers ? or only online

Hello there. This looks like either an S378-29, S380-29, or S385-29. The only difference between these channel balances is the 'depth' of the bottom nylon shoe. See below. Measure your old balance's shoe to see what matches best.

You then have to choose a stamp option, which reflects the balance's strength. Your old balance's stamp of 28-9 is from an outmoded rating system. To know what to pick, weigh the window sash the balances support. You can use that exact weight to pick the right stamp option.
