window channel balance

I would like to order a 17" channel balance for a double hung window installed in 1979 but don't know how to select from options 16R, 16HD and 16TG. Can you explain? Photos attached. My plan is to order one and see if it works. If it does I would order several more.

Hello,
I assume you're referring to the strength options for our S751-17 channel balance. There should be a stamp on the metal channel of your original balance that correlates to one of these options. There is also a chart under the balance product description that indicates the sashweight range supported by each option. Thank you!
Stamp Option Sash Weight Range
16R 10 to 17 lbs
16HD 17 to 22 lbs
16TG 22 to 24 lbs
