I have a window channel balance with "26 4 FU CMC 2" marking in it. The metal part measures 27" in length and 28" tip to tip with the plastic parts. what can I replace this with and can I also buy extra cords for it? The cords are all I need as the actual assembly is still intact but I suppose I should replace them due to age (16 years).

Thanks for coming to SWISCO. While replacing the cord alone is a tempting idea, it's not really feasible. Not only do we not sell the cords by themselves; the cords are also placed under high tension, so it's not really possible to replace as a simple home repair. Luckily, the whole balance is not particularly expensive.
Based on your balance stamp, it seems you might have a 27 inch balance with a 2640 stamp option, but we will need to identify the Series. You can follow our channel balance guide to identify which Series you need, or you can send us photos of both ends of your balance. Once you know which Series, you will be ready to place an order online or on the phone.
