I have placed a few videos on the upper right hand side of this page that may help you. To me, it sounds like your pivot bar may be broken or your spiral balance perhaps. If it should be either one of those parts, we can assist you in finding a replacement.

We will need to see photos of your balance system to judge all of that. Can you send some?

Thank you! I think we can help. Your pivot shoe has been discontinued and replaced with the 15-070. As for the tilt bars, I believe the new metal 26-356 can work.

If you also need the balance, it might be our 5/8" diameter Series 600 spiral type balance. You may not need to replace it, though. If it's not broken, then you can still reuse it. You may find having a charging tool like our 75-006 helpful in connecting your balance to the new shoe.

How do i know if my balance is broken and needs replacing

Paul from SWISCO responded:
You will need to buy a charging tool and turn the spiral clockwise, to see if you feel tension as you do it. If tension does not build, the spring has sprung, and you need a new balance.
A quick learner from Cleveland ohio says:
If i do the test to see if i have tension in balance and dont. How do i determine what balance bar replacement is the correct one

You'd use this spiral balance guide. You could also send us a photo to identify.
