window rail or replacement

Quick Learner from 22553
We have wooden windows. It suffices to say they leak. Bad. They are dated and don't align well. I've looked for ways to replace the track but can't find the matches. Our home is breezy to put it mildly. Are there any good replacements that don't require replacing the windows?

Thanks for writing in! The shoe you have here appears to be the Caradco Friction shoe which is part 15-104 on our website. Carefully review the dimensions and compare them to your existing latch to confirm if this might be the replacement you'll need.

We do not sell the jamb liner springs, unfortunately. Since this is a wood window, If you are looking to replace them, you'll need to contact a local millwork to see if they can get you set up with replacements.

I'm sorry that we could not be of help with this part of the repair.

I'm actually looking for the rail, or slide that holds the window in place.

It sounds like you are looking to replace the framing (or the channel) the balance and shoe assemblies are installed in, altogether. Is that correct?

Yes. That is correct.

You'll need to contact the local millwork for an idea on where you'd be able to replace that channel or a local window repair shop. Given that this is a wood window, your best best would be to contact the millwork.

I do apologize that I cannot give you a more direct answer.
