How to measure the length of the Series 307 spiral balance

Product Description

This is a Series 307 spiral balance for non-tilt windows. It moderates the operation of your window sash to allow the window to stay open when raised.

This balance has a 24" long metal tube. When determining the length, do not include the attached fitting; only measure the metal tube.
Comes with an attached 15-093 bottom shoe.
The strength you need should be indicated as a color tip at the end of your old metal tube. If you do not see a color tip weigh your sash on a scale and refer to the chart below.
The metal tube measures 3/8" in diameter.
Can work for either the left or right side of the window interchangeably.
Spiral window balances come fully lubricated and ready to be charged.

Red	7 to 22 lbs
Green	22 to 26 lbs

*This information is based on 2 balances per sash. Balances are designed assuming friction in the jamb weather-strip will carry a portion of the sash weight. Suggested sash weights are approximate.

Good Idea!

Balances are sold individually, however, it is a good idea to replace both window balances at the same time. Pairing a new balance with an old one would cause the new balance to wear out faster.
