Product Description
This is a Series 175 spring for tilt windows. It moderates the operation of your window sash using a specifically calibrated coil spring that allows the window sash to stay open when raised and remain shut when closed.
- This is a standard force spring. The bronze color indicates the strength.
- Measures 1/2" thick.
- Has a long tongue, meant to install below short and medium coils in a coil balance system.
- Designed to work with the 15-266 carrier, and 15-267 spring clip (sold separately).
- This coil balance spring is sold individually, not in sets.
- Can work for either the left or right side of the window interchangeably.
A balance assembly is used on each side of the window sash. To determine how many coils to use per balance assembly, please refer to the chart below.

*This information is based on 2 balances per sash. Balances are designed assuming friction in the jamb weather-strip will carry a portion of the sash weight. Suggested sash weights are approximate.
Good Idea!
Balances are sold individually, however, it is a good idea to replace both window balances at the same time. Pairing a new balance with an old one would cause the new balance to wear out faster.
