34.5" Series 850 Crossbow Balance

Home Owner from Lumberton, NJ

I had previously purchased several of these and been very happy with the replacements in my Joffee windows. I came back to purchase more and see that you no longer carry this item in the 34.5" length. Your suggestion seems to be replacement with the S795-34 as well as replacing the pivot bar. However, I don't quite understand how this replacement works. Do you have any online instructions or photos that would show how/where the pivot bar is replaced?

Here are a couple photos of what I *think* is my pivot bar. The 5/16" and 5/8" measurements seem to line up okay, but the 3/8" "L" at the end has me worried.

We're actually working on a tutorial video that outlines exactly how to replace the Series 850 with the Series 795. It's not done yet, but we're close, and expect to have it up in a matter of days. Keep an eye out for it! We'll be uploading it on our YouTube page here.

In the meantime, I'll try to walk you through it.

There are a couple things you need to keep in mind. The first is the size of the shoe: The Series 795 comes with a 1-1/4" wide shoe by default. If yours is 1-1/4" wide, too, then great! If it's 1" wide, though, you'll need to purchase the 15-194 separately and swap the shoes out when you receive them.

Another detail is the strength of the spring. The Series 795 uses a different rating system than the Series 850. Because of this, you will need to get the exact weight of your sash to confirm the best stamp option.

Finally, there's the pivot bar. The old pivot bar won't work with the new shoe. There are actually a couple different options here, depending on what you have. Your pivot bar looks like our 26-318, so we recommend using our 26-021 instead.

Let me know if you have any questions!

I have already measured my shoe to be 1-1/4" and weighed my sash which ends up being your "C" tension. Seeing the two pivot bars in picture helps me understand the difference and how they go in. I think I understand now, but I'll wait for your video to be posted. Thanks!
