Thanks for posting. Have you seen our 15-194 shoe? Does this look like it could be a closer fit?

Ah, I recognize this shoe. I see it has an indent running along the shaft. Let me guess: the balance has that same indent on the end?

Unfortunately, these balances aren't made anymore. You will have to replace the entire thing. Check out our Series 795 to see our alternative. I also think the 15-194 is your best bet, since it's only 1" wide. You can clip it right on our Series 795.

Thanks for getting back to us, AJ. That hook looks like our 15-198. Do you agree?

I have ordered part 15-194 to see if I can make it work even though it is 1/4" too short but the pivot receiver is the same. no the balance only has an indentation on the pivot side.

I don't think the 15-194 will work for you. It does not have the indentation in the shaft, which means it will not fit right in your indented metal channel. You see, your metal channel folds in at the end, and so your pivot shoe also folds in a bit to accommodate that. Our 15-194 does not.

If you think you can play with it enough to get it to work, though, I suppose it's worth a shot. Let me know how it goes.

WHEN ORDERING THE BALNCE SPRINGS I'M PROMPTED FOR A 27-? OPTION. What is that?

The options are indicative of your balance pair's strength. They usually correspond to the stamp found on your metal channel, but we recommend that you weigh your sash and compare that weight to the ranges shown for each option to make sure that you're getting the right thing. After all, better safe than sorry.
