Balance Shoe

Question

I purchased two Swisco 36" 5/8" red tip balances and trying to install into old balance shoe. I do not find a part similar to what I have.  I'm not sure they even need to be replaced but I'm having a difficult time keeping the end of the balance in the slot on the shoe. Each side also has a rubber type insert (shown in picture) that was above the balance shoe that I'm not sure what this does to hold up window sash. I have tilt in windows.

We do not have an exact replacement for this pivot shoe but I believe our 15-046 could work to replace it. You'll need to remove it and carefully compare the dimensions to confirm that it is the right fit. The most important dimensions being the width and the thickness.

You'll also need the 26-040 Pivot Bar since your existing one isn't likely to be compatible with the new shoe.
