Balance shoe for a MW Classic Vinyl Window

Hello. Attached is an image of a balance shoe and also the window decal/info for a MW Classic window I have installed at my river home. These windows are about 8 years old, and these "shoes" have deteriorated. I looked at your images of various shoes and could not identify a match. I would be most grateful for any help you might provide. I also need a few Tilt Latches as well, but I don't have any images to forward you. Most importantly I need the shoes.

I'm afraid we cannot replace this shoe. It's an older type that is no longer available. It looks similar to our 15-194, but it has a groove in the "stem" that renders the two parts incompatible. I'm afraid the only other solution is to replace your entire balance with the modern Series 795 channel balance. Keep in mind that the Series 795 comes with the larger 15-195 shoe by default. You can purchase the 15-194 separately and swap it out with the 15-195. They just pop right off.

thanks for the reply Paul. Disappointing news, but it is what it is. So I need to order the Series 795 channel balance, but I would also need to order the 15-194 separately and swap out that part with the 15-195 that comes with the Series 795? I assume you (swisco) has all these items?

Yep, that's pretty much it. We could also custom make a Series 795 with the 15-194 shoe, if you want to go that route. Another thing to consider, before you order anything, is that the Series 795 balance attaches with a screw-on clip at the end of the cord. Some older balances in this style used a hook. If yours has a hook instead of the screw-on clip, we would definitely need to custom make it. Let me know!

Thanks again Paul for this latest reply. I now have a grip on what needs to be done/ordered. My balances attach with a "hook", so we are going to need a custom order. Can you price me a custom 28" Series 795 balance, with a 15-194 shoe? I will need 24 of these. Or let me know what I need to do next.

You got it! I just need one last piece of information. There should be a stamp printed on your balance. Can you tell me what it reads? This determines the strength of the spring, so we will definitely need to know it before we start. Once I have that I will shoot you over the order form and price quote.

we are so close. I have the balance with me, but not seeing much stamped info. I see 28C and another small stamp that appears to be BSIN TN

I can tell you the spring itself is 17" with another 1/2" on each end of the spring for the wound hook. Hope this helps.

Great, 28C is what we want. That lets us know how strong the spring is. I'm thinking our S795-28 with a 28C option (indicating that this balance can carry sashes weighing 18 through 23 pounds), 15-194 shoe, and 15-198 hook. I am going to email you a custom order form for 24 of these balances, along with price quote, so you should receive it soon.
