Channel Balance

A quick learner from Kelowna, British Columbia Canada says:
I have a broken channel balance JQ 26 5 Caldwell. It is 26 7/8 inches metal tip to metal tip.

Tom from SWISCO responded:
Welcome to SWISCO. Sounds like a 27" balance with a 2650 stamp option. You can verify that by double-checking the length, and weighing the sash (and then comparing the weight to the chart on the item webpage, once you identify the Series). To identify the Series, use this handy guide, and let me know if you have questions.
A quick learner from Kelowna, BC, Canada says:
It looks like the 351. Would that be correct?

Tom from SWISCO responded:
To confirm, can you send us photos of both of the tips of your balance? Note the 351 and 390 are almost identical, except for the bottom fitting called the shoe. The series 351 channel balance has the 15-002 shoe while series 390 channel balance has the 15-001 shoe. The 15-001 shoe is 1 1/8" from front to back. The 15-002 is 1" from front to back.
A quick learner from Kelowna, British Columbia Canada says:
here are a bunch of photos of both ends along with the manufacturers designation of the channel balance.

I can confirm that this is either Series 351 or Series 390. You have to measure as shown below, if you want to tell the difference. The S351-27 would measure 1", as shown. The S390-27 would measure 1-1/8" instead. Choose whichever matches your shoe.
