Channel Balances, similar to Swisco Series 751

Your install video shows the removal of the window casing to change these balance. My windows cannot be dissassembled like that. Any suggestions?

Need window sash repair components, not exactly sure what to order. The existing ones look very similar to like Swisco Series 751 Channel Balances.

There are two sizes marked as follows:

The shorter ones are marked "19S 23U"
The longer ones are marked "21D"

See the pictures for more details.

I need approx 16 of each, assuming they are the right thing.

Hello,

Though it looks like you were able to remove your balances, I'll include our replacement video for the S751 channel balances below. If your balances measure 20" and 22" long, see the S751-20 and S751-22

Your stamp codes do not correspond to the options listed on our balance product pages, so you'll need to weigh your window sashes. There are charts on the product pages that explain how to choose your option based on the sash weight.

You'll also need to confirm that the fitting attached to your pulley cord matches the 15-014 knife lock shoe shown below. if not, we'll need to see detailed photos of an intact fitting to research this further for you. Thank you!

I am definitely not able to dissassemble the window enough to remove the balances *in one peice*. The ones I photographed:
- one was a failed balance, so easy to remove as the knife/lock show was not present
- the last remaining spare that the prior owner had left me,

A mere six seconds into that video the deomnstrator removes a peice of a window and lays it down flat on a workbench. *I cannot remove the part of the window*, it is part of a unified plastic frame. I can see no way to install any of the balances because there is no place to slip the knife/lock shoe into the track. Should I be cutting the track to get it in there?

We do not recommend cutting the jamb to remove the balances but you should be able to remove the liner that the balances install in since the were placed inside of the channel when the window was installed. Though the exact process shown in our video is not necessarily universal, removing the jamb liner will be required to successfully replace the original balances. In some cases, removing the sash or part of the window frame header may be necessary to access the jamb liner. If you do not feel comfortable doing this part of the replacement yourself, we recommend enlisting the help of a local window professional.
