Channel Window Replacement

Quick Learner from Illinois
I have watched the videos and have gone through the process on your website to help identify the channel balance replacement that is needed. My balance is for a tilt window, with a plane channel balance. The balance that I have is stamped 26B, so it looks to match the Series 795. I have two questions. First my mount at the top is a circle hole instead of a square, so the 26-200 screw plug will not work. Second, the T-lock balance is stuck in the channel. How best would you recommend to remove the T-lock balance?

Thanks for reaching out to us! It sounds like you'll need the S795-26 Channel Balance with a 15-198 Balance Clip Attachment at the top. Although, since these will need to be a custom assembly, it would be helpful to see a photo of the existing hardware to ensure we are providing you with the correct replacements.

I'll also need to know the exact number of balances you intend to purchase; there is an order minimum of (2) for custom assemblies.

To remove the T-Lock Balance Shoe, you'll need to twist in the channel so that the "T" is turned to the side and then you should be able to remove it. Take a look at our video tutorial below, starting at the 3 minute and 14 second mark for a demonstration.

How much more is the custom assembly? I am looking to purchase 8 channel balances. Please see photos attached. As you can see the T-Block balance has separated from the assembly. That is currently still in the channel of the window. I am not sure I will be able to remove the T-Block in the same manner as in the video.

I've forwarded a link with a quote for (8) of the S795-26 Channel Balances with a 26B stamp option and a 15-198 Balance Clip Attachment. You'll be able to use this link to review the quote and place the order from your online cart.

Once you have the shoe removed you'll need to measure its width to confirm the correct replacement.

When you attempted to remove the shoe, did you experience any issues?

I was able to remove T Block as referenced in the video without any issues. The base of the T-block is the standard 1 - 1/4".

Okay, perfect! The balances will come assembled with a 15-195 1-1/4" Closed Cam, T-Lock Shoe.

Please let me know if there is anything else I might be able to assist with.
