Coil Balance and Shoe

Question

Trying to ID these.  The patent says 5704165 but then its also stamped 485 on back.  The other shoes with that patent number look markedly different than this one. The plastic piece behind the coil also attaches to the shoe with two little wings.  Coil says S9

Thanks for posting! Our 15-199 Pivot Shoe should work well as a suitable replacement for the coil balance shoe you have. We have not been able to find a direct match for yours but have found that this works very well in its place. The compatible pivot bar is the 26-378.

The coil springs used with this shoe are the 1/2" thick Series 160 or the 3/8" Series 165 coil balances. To determine which of these is the correct one for your assembly, you'll need to confirm the thickness of your coil.

While the stamp on your coil does appear to be a 9, it would be good idea to double check the sash weight. If it is 12lbs, you will need 6lb coils instead of 9lb coils. Keep in mind, the S165 is not available in a 9lb coil.
