Looking to repair older Farley double hung window. The rope has snapped and Clip/Tilt shoe have broken apart. The balance stamp #28C. I'd like to order all parts needed to repair. I believe it to be 62-716C, 62-5007C. I have attached pictures that hopefully will assist w/ parts. Thank you

Hello there!

Thanks for reaching out to us. This looks like the Series 795 channel balance with the 28C stamp option. The default shoe that this balance comes with is the 15-195 so you'll want to make sure yours is the same.

I noticed your window has a square-shaped hole at the top of the track. We usually only see this type of hole when the balance uses a hook to install so I wonder if your original hardware had a hook. Can you confirm? We recommend checking an identical window in the house and using that as a reference.

I do believe you've narrowed in on all pcs needed. The square shaped hole is in every window. However, the tool? Windows were put in long ago. What do I need and how do I repair?
Thank you

Emily is out of the office but it sounds like she is trying to determine if your balances use the 15-198 hook or 19-043 screw clip at the end of your pulley to install the balances. See the images below. Once we confirm the type of clip you have, we'll be able to confirm the correct replacements. In the meantime, see timestamp 3:15 in the video below to walk you through the replacement process for these balances. Thank you.

In that case, see the S795-28 (28C) channel balances. These replacements come with the 19-043 pulley clip. We do encourage you to remove the clip from the window jamb to confirm since we can also supply these balances with the 15-198 attached if needed, but it would be a custom order.

The S795-28 (28C) stock balances available on our website come with the 19-043 screw tab and 1-1/4" wide 15-195 closed cam T-lock shoe already attached as shown in our product image. As long as the specifications match your original balance, you'll be good to go.

Unforutnately, there is not one particular lock used by Farley. If you could show us photos of your lock and write out the distance between the installation hole centers, that would help us narrow down your options.
