Hardware rusted out on tilt in window

I don't see any markings. This has been broken since we got the house. It looks like the coil spring assembly would move with the sash. But the connecting pieces between the spring assembly and the sash are rusted away... This window is in the bathroom shower

Hi there!

Thank you for reaching out to us. Your pivot shoe looks like a match for the 15-087 which uses the S180 coil springs (sold separately).

I'm afraid we can't ID the pivot bar from your photo though. Is there an identical window in the house with a pivot bar in better condition? If so, we can use that as a reference.

Hi Emily, thanks for your response. This is the only window of this kind in the house. I've removed the existing pivot shoes and uploaded a photo of those. The dimensions match the product you mentioned. I tried to remove the pivot bars from the sash, but they disintegrated onto pieces of rust. Can you tell me what pivot bars are compatible with these pivot shoes and I can check dimensions on the sash to see what might fit?  Also I uploaded a pic of a tilt latch... Could you recommend compatible replacements?

The 15-087 is compatible with the 26-040, 26-063, 26-125, and 26-422 but we can't make any guarantees without seeing the old one. It also looks like the sash may use a pivot bar housing from the second photo in your initial discussion post. It's tough to say since it's blurry but I am reminded of the 26-382S

As for the tilt latch, take a look at the 26-266's specifications and see what you think. Please note that the right-handed version is no longer available.

Thanks again for your responses!

I'm uploading a photo showing the the pivot bar housing. I'm a bit confused though... I've gone through some of the videos on your site, and most windows seem to allow you to tilt forward and then pull the sash out of the pivot shoe. But the coil housing pivot doesn't seem to have a slot to allow you to pull the bar out of it.

Does that mean my window would not be removable if the bar hadn't rusted out? Then when I replace the parts, would I have to put the pivot bars into the sash and housings and try to place them all through a slot in the channel? Or is there a way I can slide the pivot bar into the housing while the sash is in place? Do you have a video showing how I could do this repair with this window?

Otherwise, the tilt latch you suggested looks good, but unfortunately the right hand one is in worse shape from the left. I may just have to jury rig a flush mount one to make it workable. I guess the parts are reasonably priced so I can get a few and see what fits best.

Thank you for waiting while we looked further into this. We believe you have the Silverline Series 8500 vinyl window, which uses the 26-382S pivot bar case and 26-083 pivot bar. To install or remove the sash from the balance system, you want the pivot shoes uneven, not parallel in the window track. Tilt in the sash and twist the sash to force one of the pivot shoes down and the other one up until one of the pivot bars is released from the pivot shoe. To reinstall the sash, place one side of the sash's pivot bar in the pivot shoe and work the opposite side in the other shoe. I hope this helps.
