Hello,

Take a look and compare the S400-28 spiral balance for non-tilt windows to your assembly.

I'd also recommend weighing your window sash and following the chart under the balance product description to choose the corresponding strength color option for your new balances. Thank you!

A home owner from Goliad, Texas says:
If the brass pin at the tip can be removed, then that balancer might work. The balancers in my house all just have an open slot where that pin is in the red S400-28.

The window sash itself just has a hook. The slot on the end of the balancer slides onto that hook on the windows sash. (You can see that in the 2nd photo on the original post)

Unfortunately, we can't supply balances with just a hole at the end of the spiral. The S400 and one of the related sash brackets shown on the spiral balance product page would be our best option for the parts shown in your photos.

A home owner from Goliad, Texas says:
Hmmmmm... maybe I'm missing a bracket... I haven't found any in the existing windows (house build in 1970, but I just bought it). Maybe something like the #S 32 Bracket fell out long ago and were lost?

That is certainly possible. They can also be hard to see since they sit flush to the side. You may want to double-check any windows that use this kind of hardware to confirm how they are supposed to attach to the sash.
